It's important to consider the kind of food and timing of intake as it is vital before and after a workout. You should know that the food is the fuel of the body and it provide the body with energy to perform the exercises. A full meal will not help as one may just end up nauseated, sluggish or in pain from muscle cramps. The mechanism of this phenomenon happens because the blood flow is concentrated on the digestive tract for absorption instead of going straight to the muscle. The blood oxygen is limited on the muscles so lactic acid is formed instead.
